Lyle Hale Larsen

Thousand Oaks, CA

December 30 1933 - June 16 2018

Lyle Hale Larsen (A.K.A. Hale or Curly) died peacefully on June 16th after a brief illness at the age of 84.

He took his final breath here and woke up in the arms of Jesus his lord and savior... he is now dancing in heaven with his one true love, Doris Jean Larsen, who preceded him in death. He was also reunited with his youngest daughter, Susan Gay Messerschmidt, who also preceded him in death.

Hale was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved life, his country, and served as a Navy reserve. He loved to laugh and brought joy to all with his constant stream of corny jokes and his infectious personality.

Hale loved fishing, boating, horseback riding, game playing and his family, but mostly he loved his wife Doris who he shared 62 years of marriage with. Dad will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him for he seemed to carry joy in his pockets along with handfuls of candy. Until we meet again Dad, love you to heaven and back.

Hale leaves behind his daughter, Christie June Smith and son-in-law, Archibald Smith of Scotland UK, his daughter, Laura Jean Jacobson and son-in-law, Ronald Jacobson of Oregon, his granddaughter, Andrea A McKinnon and husband, Angus McKinnon of Scotland UK, a granddaughter, Erika Rose Laughnan and husband, Woodrow Laughnan, grandson, Evan Hale Messerschmidt and wife, Ana of Three Rivers, grandson, Jeremy Robinson of Ventura, great-grandsons, Kieren McKinnon Smith, Maxwell Adien McKinnon, Annabelle Faith McKinnon, Landen Alexander McKinnon, all of Scotland UK, Mason Hale Messerschmidt of Three Rivers, and Clarisse Susan Laughnan of Clovis.

A celebration of Lyle’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 29 at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 588 Camino Manzanas, Thousand Oaks. All are welcome.
