Julie Ann Lacy

Newbury Park, CA

Mrs. Julie Ann (Temples) Lacy, of Newbury Park, born on May 1, 1965 in Walla Walla, Washington, to James Temples and the late Caryl Temples, woke up in Heaven on June 9, 2018. Julie was the loving wife of Doug Lacy and adoring mother of Tyler and Jackson Lacy.  She leaves behind, along with her father, her sisters Sue Hotaling and Jerri Temples Carbonell and many close family and friends.

Julie grew up in Solana Beach and attended Torrey Pines High School and went on to graduate from San Diego State University. She volunteered often with her Church serving on the vestry of St. Andrews in Encinitas and traveled to Romania working in the orphanages in Bucharest and living her faith. Julie also volunteered at St. Julie’s where she shared her love of the Lord with her Women’s Bible Study group.  She earned her pilot’s license where she met Doug as her instructor and went on to work for Northwest Airlines as a flight attendant in 1997. She spent over 20 years as a flight attendant continuing with Delta. She loved traveling, writing and spending time with family. Julie’s capacity for love and compassion was unlimited and she would do anything for anyone without hesitation. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Julie Billiart, 2475 Borchard Rd., Newbury Park.  There will also be a memorial service for Julie in San Diego on Sunday, June 24 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Encinitas after the 10:00 a.m. service.

Donations in Julie's name may be made to St. Julie Billiart Parish.
