Kate Kiyo Odahara, 95, peacefully went to be with the Lord and reunited with her loving husband on March 12, 2018. Kate was at home, surrounded by her family in Camarillo. Kate Kiyo was born on August 17, 1922, in Rexburg, Idaho to Genza Buro Kusaka and Machi Takazawa. She had one sister, Mary Naito and three brothers, George, Tom and Sam Kusaka, now deceased. She attended High School in Rexburg Idaho until her family moved to a family-owned farm in San Diego.

Kate met George Odahara while attending the Los Angeles Fashion Institute. She was married to George Odahara on April 20, 1950 in a beautiful ceremony in Los Angeles. They lived in Santa Monica, eventually moving their family to Thousand Oaks in 1960. She was the loving mother of two sons, Gary Odahara (Middle River, MD) and John Odahara (Thousand Oaks, CA). Kate and George raised their two sons in Thousand Oaks and were very active in the early years of the Thousand Oaks community.

Kate Kiyo was a lifetime homemaker. She cherished and loved her whole family very much. Kate lived more than 60 years in the Thousand Oaks and Camarillo areas. She is survived by John and Susan Odahara and their two sons Chad Odahara and Josh Odahara. As well as Gary and Anna Odahara and their four children, Keri and (Greg) Ott, Jonathan and (Bethany) Odahara, Christiana and (Jamie) Stoltzfus, Jennifer and (Zachary) Velmer. She is the great- grandmother of their 11 beautiful children.

"Katie" was a spirited woman, deeply religious, a loving wife, proud mother, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed family celebrations, Dodger games, Elvis music and walking and spending time in Camarillo especially with her dear friend Martha. Martha, Kate's neighbor, will be forever appreciated by Kate and her family for her long time friendship and kind and considerate ways. Katie was much loved and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
